Beach soccer summer camps, guest teachers, and fun are at the core of Ramiro Amarelle´s Escuela de Futbol Playa

Beach Soccer has meant a lot to me, not only as a sportsman but also in the way it has made me grow as a person, and this is what I try to pass on to the children.” A powerful quote from Amarelle himself that sums up just how important this idea is. How do you nearly single-handedly start or, in the very least, carry a movement across a country and beyond? A good step is to take your skills on the road. Ramiro Amarelle is a Spanish superstar on the beach and he is taking his talents all over the country. His story began long before he started his beach soccer summer camp three years ago. This story begins just like most children’s; from about the age they can walk and consciously think that they want to be a professional athlete.

Amaralle is giving back to the communities something that he never had when he was climbing his way to the top of a fairly new sport. He is taking his renowned summer courses to nine separate and beautiful venues to train, educate, and inspire the youth of today. These children will be treated with the realization of the young dreams that they themselves have. The different beaches will span from Galicia to Andalusia and everywhere in between.

The camps have grown in popularity every year and the third version, this year, already has over 500 children, boys and girls, participating. The five day camps will not only focus on everything beach soccer, including techniques and tactics known only by the pros, but the courses will also be loaded of other important elements and habits for sports practice and healthy life, such as nutrition, hygiene, and tips to prepare your body for sports. Sports, Amarelle can assure you, are about much more than just a game.

In addition to being taught and guided by arguably the greatest Spanish beach soccer player, the camps will also feature other star athletes from the Spanish National Team, Nico, Kuman, Pajón, Mérida, among others. The different perspectives from these players will give the children unique looks at scoring, juggling, goalkeeping, everything. “The feedback we get from the boys and girls is just great. They absolutely love the sport, the activities and the experience it brings…” added Amarelle, when reflecting on why he gets so much satisfaction from giving back.

If one child realizes that they can strive to be magicians on the beach like Amarelle then all of these camps are more than worth it. Having more chances than the living legend himself did not have is something that Amarelle is making happen. Talking about the goals of the camp and the future, Amarelle stated, “Obviously, the main objective of the course is to have the children learning a discipline that I am sure they will love. It is not only a matter of spreading the love for beach soccer, but also a task of formation of players that can be important in the future” New stories are beginning as we speak and in part to the efforts from number 10, Ramiro Amarelle.
